Assenty Ltd ​("us", "we", or "our") operates ​www.assenty.com ​(the "Site”).

This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Site.

We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Site. By using the Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

While using our Site, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to your name ("Personal Data").

What we need

Assenty Ltd will be what’s known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect basic personal data about you which does not include any special types of information or location based information. This does however include name and email address.

Why we need it

We need to know your basic personal data in order to provide you with notice writing and question board services. Specifically, we contact you by email to notify you of user activity on question boards you create, or posting of answers, votes and awards on questions you post on the Site. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you. You can enable or disable these email notifications at any time. If you do not give consent, or withdraw consent to receiving email notifications from us, you will not be updated by email. In the event that you choose to no longer be updated by email, you will only receive browser notifications provided you are logged in and navigating around the Site.

What we do with it

All the personal data we process is processed by our staff in the UK however for the purposes of IT hosting and maintenance this information is located on servers within the European Union. No third parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

How long we keep it

We are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, email address) for a minimum of 6 years after which time it will be destroyed. Your information we use for marketing purposes will be kept with us until you notify us that you no longer wish to receive this information.

What we would also like to do with it

We would also like to use your name and email address to inform you of our future offers and similar products. For example, we may email you links to question boards you may wish to contribute to. This information is not shared with third parties and you can unsubscribe at any time via email. Please indicate by following this link if this is something you would like to sign up to.

What are your rights?

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can request to see this information and have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact our Data Protection Officer who will investigate the matter. If you are not satisfied with our response, or believe we are not processing your personal data in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Log Data

Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Site ("Log Data").

This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Site that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyse this information.

If you are a user of our paid service, we will utilise a third party credit card payment processing company to collect payment information, including your credit card number, billing address and phone number. We will pass this payment information on to the third party processing company as detailed below in “How We Share Your Information: With Trusted Service Providers and Business Partners.” We do not store your payment information.

Even if you are not a registered user of our Service, if you email us we may retain a record of such email communication, including your email address, the content of your email, and our response.

We may use your Personal Information to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may interest you. You may opt out of receiving this information at any time.

Our site, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older. If this server is in the USA, and you are under the age of 13, per the requirements of COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), do not use this site.

We will display your Content within the Service as directed by you.

Business Transaction

Please be aware that in the event that Assenty Ltd is to be merged or bought by another business, your Personal Information would be transferred to the new owner so that the Service can continue to operate. In such a case, your information would remain subject to the promises and commitments contained in this Privacy Policy until such time as this Privacy Policy is updated or amended by the acquiring party upon notice to you.
